IMPORTANCE OF TREES & ETHIOPIA’S CLIMATE RESILIENT GREEN ECONOMY PROGRAMME
IN 2020 the Ethiopian government and its people made a commendable achievement as they planted 3.5 million trees in less than 12 hours thereby breaking the standing world record at that time.
In a transforming and growing world scientific advances in research and discoveries whether geological, medical, social or spiritual; place trees at the centre of a thriving, healthy and prosperous human community. Trees are anchors of righteous living in our societies and that is evident in diminished stress levels, criminal activities and poor health in communities which are in these blessed gifts from God.
Their countless benefits to our world are evident in their ability to not only cool our environment, but also how their increased presence in communities is able to combat oxidative stress which is a big catalyst for the development of cancer in humans. This is an exciting initiative and we are eager to witness the improved life of the people of Ethiopia. This nation holds a very key position in the true development of Africa as such that role is well captured by this ground breaking achievement. According to the our sacred texts and guides like the Book of Enoch trees will have a profound significance in the last days as the Lord creates an environment that destroys corruption, unrighteousness and immorality.

This brief passage from chapter 10 of the Book of Enoch captures this beautifully:
10.17 “And now all the righteous will be humble, and will live until they beget thousands. And all the days of their youth, and their Sabbaths, they will fulfil in peace. And in those days the whole earth will be tilled in righteousness and all of it will be planted with trees; and it will be filled with blessing. 10.19 And all the pleasant trees they will plant on it and they will plant on it vines.
And the vine that is planted on it will produce fruit in abundance; and every seed that is sown on it, each measure will produce a thousand, and each measure of olives will produce ten baths of oil. 10.20 And you cleanse the Earth from all wrong, and from all iniquity, and from all sin, and from all impiety, and from all the uncleanness which is brought about on the earth. 10.21 And all the sons of men shall be righteous, and all the nations shall serve and bless me and all shall worship me. 10.22 And the Earth will be cleansed from all corruption, and from all sin, and from all wrath, and from all torment; and I will not again send a flood upon it, for all generations, forever."
